First Visit
Regardless of age, a child’s first visit should be special
The first tooth is a milestone in your baby’s life. Let’s celebrate together!
Not only do we love seeing those adorable bunny rabbit smiles, but research has shown us that the key to a lifetime of oral health is establishing healthy habits as early as possible.
As soon as the first tooth emerges, or by their first birthday, your child should have their first dental checkup per the recommendation from both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
At this visit, we’ll:
- Review your child’s medical history and any concerns you have
- Discuss healthy dietary patterns and hygiene habits to prevent future cavities
- Examine your child’s mouth for any signs of decay or other problems
- Show you how to keep things clean
- Develop a long-term relationship with our team office to learn about and take care of your child’s dental development
A study in the Journal, Pediatrics, showed that children who have their first dental visit before age one have 40 percent lower dental costs in their first five years than children who do not.
That’s why developing healthy eating habits and good dental hygiene habits from the first tooth will help your child grow healthy teeth. We’re here to make your child’s first visit a pleasant experience and help your child start on the road to cavity-free teeth and a healthy mouth.
